El fin de Semana

Glad it's Friday night. In the past few weeks I've:

- stopped working at Missoula Orthotics & Prosthetics

- moved into Jenny's grandparents' basement apartment (w/Jenny)

- bought the latest LP from Chicago nostalgists The M's (rating 3)

- watched Ecuador put the hurt on Poland in the first day of World Cup action

- tried my luck as a door-to-door canvasser for the Montana Public Interest Research Group (lasted one night)

- made the well-worn pilgrimage to the Adventist oasis of Walla Walla, WA for graduations (talked about Clifford Goldstein mythology with Simon J. and enjoyed the Clarettes meaty bounty with him as well as Jeff "young skywalker" Edwards)

- began working at Missoula Orthotics & Prosthetics again

Tonight my sister and brother arrive by car from Maryland. They've made incredible time despite car troubles. According to the latest inconclusive reports, the Honda Civic required wire coat hangers to make it to Missoula in one piece.

Tomorrow we all caravan off to Walla Walla again for more Graduations. Only in College Place (or Collegedale, or Berrien Springs, or Loma Linda, or.....) can you attend graduations for Elementary, Secondary, and Collegiate achievements without ever really needing to leave the building. Just be sure to leave the artificial noisemakers in the Mothers room.
